Ever tried alligator? If you’re curious, Flaming Grill Café (which also happens to crank out some of the best burgers in town) offers intrepid diners a plate of battered, deep-fried “gator bites.” Lightly sprinkled with a spicy pico de gallo salsa and served with a house-made aioli reminiscent of Thousand-Island dressing, the springy white meat “bites” are tender, mild and decidedly tasty. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, the restaurant also offers deep-fried python (really!) and kangaroo burgers.
