First Bite: Firestone Public House

Posted on June 18

If you’re a sports fan, you’ll want to check out the brand new Firestone Public House in midtown. Occupying the space last inhabited by California Pizza Kitchen on the corner of L and 16th streets, the space has been completely transformed. It now has an industrial, urban vibe, with concrete floors, exposed ductwork, lots of metal beer barrels adorning the walls, and a large bar area with a dizzying selection of beers on draft. There are tvs scattered all throughout the space featuring sporting events, and the noise level can be daunting when the place is packed (which it is in the evenings, especially on weekends). Not-to-miss menu items include the soft shell crab tacos, the beer-battered fish and chips, and the pulled pork nachos.
