Christmas Trees…and Fudge?

Posted on November 19, 2013

Kira O'Donnell

Thanksgiving’s right around the corner, and before you know it, it’ll be time to start Christmas tree shopping. Consider making the trek to lovely Apple Hill this holiday season, where families can not only choose a perfect Christmas tree, but can also discover and enjoy locally-made and -grown treats at the same time. Many Apple Hill farms that sell trees also offer a range of other enticing products for visitors – the Fudge Factory Farm, for example, stocks handmade chocolates and blackberry wine in addition to its excellent fudge. Frosty Fir Christmas Tree Farm provides hot spiced cider to its customers, while Harris Tree farm sells fresh eggs and jam. Other farms offer gourds, wine tasting, complimentary candy canes and hot cocoa. For farm details, locations and hours, check out the El Dorado County farm trail map.
