Late Summer Lingers at Neighborhood Farmers Markets

Posted on October 20

The air may be chilly outside as we approach the holiday season, but local farmers markets are still offering (very) late summer produce in addition to beautiful fall apples, persimmons, pears and squash. I spied a number of colorful heirloom tomatoes displayed this past weekend, in addition to some late-season peaches and even pretty baskets of blackberries and strawberries. Now’s a great time to stock up on these tasty items before they’re gone for the year.
