Try It: Hilda's Bakery in Auburn

Posted on July 1, 2013

I bought a fabulous Butterscotch Wreath recently at Hilda’s Bakery, a cozy little establishment on Lincoln Way in Auburn. Dotted with chopped walnuts and drizzled with a pretty glaze, it was a crusty, sweet breakfast indulgence (and a real bargain at only $6 – it easily fed four people). The friendly family-owned shop offers a mouthwatering array of freshly-baked pastries, doughnuts and cakes, in addition to an enticing menu of breakfast and lunch sandwiches (try the “Gobbler,” stacked with turkey, cranberry sauce and Pepper Jack cheese). This is a great spot in town to order up an espresso drink and lemon bar (or mint brownie, or Danish...) and cuddle up on a couch with a good book.
