If you’re interested in learning more about our region’s rich agricultural and gastronomic heritage, mark your calendar on Saturday, June 1. A unique event called Grow, Cook, Savor—which aims to “celebrate Sacramento's foodscape”—will be held in the Tsakopoulos Library Galleria at the Sacramento Central Library from 10 a.m.–4 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person.
A tasty array of talks, demonstrations, exhibits and tastings will take place, featuring talented local chefs and craft-beer purveyors, wine growers, regional food historians and scholars. Visitors are invited to share their favorite food memory at a recording area called the Story Station; and a timeline and culinary map of Sacramento's “food-drink-restaurant” history will be unveiled.
Hosted by the Sacramento Public Library, Capital Public Radio and other local partners, the event is the highlight of We Are Where We Eat, a yearlong project capturing the stories of people who grow, cook, serve, eat and drink in Sacramento County.
