I made the acquaintance of a captivating white wine this week – a crisp, bright, exuberant Pinot Grigio crafted by Murphy-Goode winery. The wine’s appealing bouquet, showcasing the heady fragrance of ripe Bartlett pears with delicate nutty-spicy aromas, led into honeyed flavors of pear and apple, with lots of snappy citrus and intriguing mineral notes that added complexity and interest to this approachable, vivacious white. I would serve this Pinot Grigio as a fun aperitif; or alongside a cheese plate, prosciutto-wrapped melon, light shellfish dishes, quiche, or roast chicken.
