Ivy House Retirement Sale

Posted on May 27

Sad news: East Sacramento’s charming specialty boutique Ivy House is closing its doors. After 21 years, owner Jackie Vikre is retiring. (Vikre was a schoolteacher for 25 years prior to opening Ivy House, so we’re inclined to say she’s entitled to hang up her working hat.) Right now, everything is 25 percent off, including cards and ribbon. Vikre and staff are advising anyone who’s “had their eye on something” to come in now; merchandise, we’re told, is moving fast. Oh, and those cute East Sacramento T’s and sweatshirts? You can buy them only at Ivy House—and they are on sale, too. And if you’re looking for a special gift, the store is “still boxing and bowing for presents” in the store’s legendary green box, according to employee Robert Vargas.  The store will remain open until all inventory sells. It’s never too early to start thinking about Christmas . . . .
