Celebrate all things tomato at the fifth annual Capay Tomato Festival this Saturday, July 14, from 3 p.m.–11 p.m. The event, held at Farm Fresh To You, includes tours of the farm, live music, dancing and, of course, tomato tastings (we’re talking several varieties of tomatoes).
Tickets to the event are $25 per person at the door (bring cash), and proceeds benefit the Kathleen Barsotti Non-Profit for Sustainable Agriculture foundation, which awards scholarships to high school seniors intending to work in an a sustainable agriculture-related field. KBNP also donates school supplies to Capay Valley farmworker families. Food and refreshments will be sold on-site, but feel free to bring a picnic—there will be a “Best Capay Picnic Contest.” Heck, feel free to spend the night! Attendees are invited to camp in the farm orchards for an additional charge. (Note: campsites sold out last year.) For more information, click here.
