Years ago, there used to be a local fun run in Sacramento called Chevys to Chevys. Participants would run from the Chevys restaurant on Howe Avenue to the Chevys on the Garden Highway. Thinking about how one would get there by car (by freeway, not the Arden-Garden Connector), it sounded far away. But taking the bike path, it was a very manageable 12K—and a lot of fun to do!
Well, de Vere’s Irish Pub, which has two locations, Sacramento and Davis, is doing something similar to Chevys to Chevys, only it involves cycling, not running.
On Saturday, July 28, de Vere’s presents de Vere’s 2 de Vere’s Bike 2 Beat Cancer ride. Participants will start at de Vere’s in midtown at 1531 L St. and finish at de Vere’s in Davis, at 217 E St., riding a total of 14 miles. Registration is at 8 a.m., with cyclists taking off at 8:45 a.m.
Once in Davis, enjoy lunch at de Vere’s a (or a nearby restaurant) and be sure to check out items in the silent auction taking place from noon– 3:30 p.m. at de Vere’s.
