Have your cake, eat it, too, and help a great cause this Thursday at The Great Cake Walk. The event, which runs from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sacramento State Alumni Center, features gourmet cake tastings, items for auction, music from Rio Americano and Christian Brothers high school bands and, of course, cake walks. News10’s Cristina Mendonsa hosts the festivities. Tickets are $65 and proceeds benefit Closing the Gap, which works to close the “academic gap” in Sacramento-area public schools.
One disclaimer: While we can’t guarantee that a cake exactly resembling the one accompanying this blog will be served at the event, we did learn via Facebook that Ettore’s famous Princess Torte cake will be served. We feel pretty confident there’ll be lots of other wonderful goodies, as well.
