The Crocker Art Museum usually takes Mondays off. In other words, it’s closed. Unless it’s a “Holiday Monday,” in which case the museum is open to the public, often with some special event planned. This Monday, Memorial Day, the museum is hosting FamilyPalooza with fun activities for the whole family. What kind of fun activities? How about learning to dance? You can do so on the “Dance Like Nobody’s Watching” dance floor. How about trying your hand at making art? You’ll have an opportunity to do that as well. Or, just relax and let professionals—including The Hipwaders, and Frankie and The Fabletones—entertain you on the main stage, located in the courtyard. Of course, the gallery is at your disposal for touring, so take advantage of it. FamilyPalooza takes place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; the museum is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free, but the Crocker is accepting donations of diapers and baby wipes for Sacramento Food Bank & Family Services’ Parent Education program.
Where: Crocker Art Museum, 216 O St., Sacramento
When: Monday, May 27, 11 a.m.–3 p.m.
