I'm a firm believer in indulging in all things sweet and tasty during the holiday season. If there's a question of whether or not I should eat that last cookie, I ask myself, "What would Santa do?" Even so, sometimes you gotta take the time to burn off a few of those extra calories. But that doesn't mean you have to kill yourself on the gym treadmill. Treat yourself and give the Sacramento Santa Run a try instead.
This 5k run/walk (with the Merry Mile for little Santas) is more of a holiday party than exercise, complete with cookies, milk, music and snow at the finish line. Everybody is encouraged to dress up in their holiday best, whether that means wearing the ugliest Christmas sweater possible or a dreidel costume. And if you're lacking in the costume department, don't fret—one Santa suit is provided per registration entry. If you're feeling really festive, go for the group costume: Dad as Santa, Mom as Mrs. Claus, and kids as elves and reindeer. Have fun with it. After all, it's the most wonderful time of the year.
