Athens Guitar Duo

Posted on March 5

Ever seen an 11-string guitar? Me, either—and that’s just one of the things that draws me to the Athens Guitar Duo, who will perform at the Crocker Art Museum on Sunday, March 9 at 3 p.m. The Grammy-nominated duo of Dusty Woodruff and Matthew Anderson will offer a worldly view of both traditional and modern classical music on their master luthier-crafted acoustic guitars, delivering compositions from such countries as Spain, Argentina, France, Turkey, and—yes—the United States.

And here’s an added treat: Those who want to get into the global mood pre-concert can join a docent-led prelude tour of works by Latino artists in the museum’s permanent collection (free for members and included with general admission for nonmembers). The tour kicks off at 1:30 p.m.

For more information, visit crockerartmuseum.org or call (916) 808-7000. To learn more about Athens Guitar Duo, visit athensguitarduo.com.
