Every charity and their sister hosts a 5k fun run these days. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but for the patrons of the run, the idea of dashing down the same old city streets is a little stale. Just when you're ready to shout, "Step up your game, runs!" in comes the Dirty Girl Mud Run, which, yes, supports breast and ovarian cancer awareness and research through Bright Pink (score for charity) but is also actually fun and fresh. Okay, well, maybe not so fresh. Truth be told, you're going to get muddy. You're going to dash through mud piles, get soaked in ponds, climb over the scaling wall, and conquer all the other obstacles with your girlfriends at this gnarly, messy, silly run. Expect to laugh, ruin your clothes, and get a T-shirt, goodies and a cocktail at the end. This run is designed for women of all ages and abilities, so there's no need for concern if it's been a while since you've last sprinted across off-road terrain. Whatever your ability, you'll be in good company. All you need to finish is the right attitude, and maybe some encouraging friends to cheer you on. And since the race isn't timed, there is no pressure to hustle. Just boogie down in that mud, and think of the adult beverages waiting for you at the finish line. For more information, see here.
