Chicago Fire - FolsomCategories
Essential Information
614 Sutter St.
Folsom, CA 916-353-0140 2010 Best of Sacramento Winner - Best Pizza Although Chicago Fire sits in Folsom’s Historic District this upscale pizza parlor boasts pure Chi-town pizzas that are made wafer thin with mounds of garlic or stuffed and layered so thick you’ll only eat one piece before calling it quits. The atmosphere is slick and has an air of 1960s Rat Pack with its deep red walls, shiny black booths and Dean Martin singing about the dame who got away. The menu is straightforward with a small spattering of appetizers and salads, but the night always belongs to pizza. There’s the thin crust—which general manager Rick Watson says is the favorite amongst Chicago locals—the deep dish that is layered in cheeses and covered in sauce and plum tomatoes. The stuffed pizza is essentially a debauchery of cheese, toppings and sauces baked into layers creating two pizzas in one. Although this is technically a pizza place, make time to have an evening of it. Expect to wait for both a table and for one of those monstrous pizzas to be prepared.
