Offering affordably priced dishes inspired by the street foods of Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore, Star Ginger is owned by Mai Pham of Lemon Grass Restaurant. The contemporary, sun-splashed interior has lots of wood and warm, soothing colors, and there’s a roomy community table for single diners and people who like to socialize. The slow-roasted Kurobuta pork bánh mì is spectacular, and the vegetarian Jungle Curry is made with lovely fresh vegetables, chickpeas and big blocks of soft tofu. At $5, the spicy Thai chicken soup is a delicious bargain.
