The dark, cramped space, like a subterranean cave, is packed practically every night. The best seats are along the windows that look out onto J Street—perfect for people-watching as you savor a Spanish cava or tempranillo from the lengthy, exciting wine list. Tapas include celestial gambas al ajillo (rock shrimp sautéed in olive oil, garlic, fresh parsley, white wine and dried red chili flakes) and the super-crispy berenjenas (breaded, fried eggplant slathered with tomato compote and Parmesan). The restaurant offers live Spanish classical and flamenco guitar seven nights a week.
