Part supper club, part theatrical production, part cocktail party: This is like no other restaurant in Sacramento. You need to make reservations months in advance for the five-course dinner (plus a sushi break). The open demonstration kitchen is framed by a counter and surrounded by tables high enough to afford an excellent view of the show given by chef de cuisine Noah Zonca and, occasionally, owner Randall Selland himself. The food is complex and mind-blowingly creative. Dinner costs $125 per person, not including wine, tax or tip. But a visit to The Kitchen is a multihour event, offering a unique experience and a great deal of fun.
