If your kids are interested in cooking and agriculture, Soil Born Farms is offering a fun event they won’t want to miss. On Saturday, June 29th from 9:30 a.m. to noon, the farm is hosting a “farm pizza party,” where young participants (suggested ages 9-15) will harvest fresh vegetables from the farm and use them as toppings for their own personal pizza. Kids will learn to make pizza dough and pesto from scratch, practice knife skills and kitchen math, and experience the vibrant connection between farm and fork. The pizza party will be held at Soil Born Farms’ American River Ranch in Rancho Cordova (2140 Chase Drive) and costs $45 ($35 for kids whose parents are Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op owners). For more information, visit Soil Born’s website or the Sacramento Natural Foods Co-op website.
