Our Stories: Judith Lowry's Artistic Reflections on Native California

Our Stories: Judith Lowry's Artistic Reflections on Native California represents a select gathering of paintings completed over almost two decades by artist Judith Lowry.  Lowry's paintings are vibrant narratives that tell the story of her California Indian roots, mixing family histories with important oral histories and symbols inspired by her Pit River, Maidu and Washoe heritage.  On view Dec 4 - Jan 27.  Join us for the 2nd Friday ArtAbout Reception and meet the artist and the curator on Fri, Dec 14 6-9 PM.  Enjoy original music sung in the Maidu language by the Maidu Independent Theater, a vocal group of Native American singers, 7-7:45 PM.  Karah English, Exhibit Curator, will talk with Lowry about the Native community and her new work on Sat, Dec 15, 2-3 PM.  FREE.
