Sacramento Suburban Writers Club Speaker

CHOPPER STEEDLEY-TOLAN is a three-year-old Shih Tzu who was both adopted and first went to the doctor when he was two months old. He is the credited author of two photo-illustrated children's books, "I've Been Picked! Chopper's "Tail" of Adoption" and the recently released "I'm Not Sick! Chopper's "Tails" of the Doctor". Chopper blogs and has a motorcycle club at choppersmc.com. At last count he has traveled to 27 different states by car, plane or motorcycle and published "Chopper's Ride Fly Drive Hit the Road Guide for Dogs and Their Humans" based on his experiences. He completed beginner obedience training, but was called “strong-willed” and “a party on wheels” by his teachers. Chopper lives in Sacramento with his family and is a member of Carmichael Canine Corral Association and Biker Dogs Motorcycle Club International.

Chopper’s Mommy, AMANDA L. STEEDLEY, is a freelance artist and Chopper's ghostwriter. She received a BA from The University of Alabama in studio art and has worked as a graphic designer, illustrator and photographer and contributed articles to various magazines. She is a member of the Dog Writers Association of America and Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. While on hiatus from creative pursuits, Steedley earned a MS in accountancy from the University of Notre Dame and worked as a tax accountant.
