One in four women in America will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. This October, The California Victim Compensation Program (CalVCP) observes Domestic Violence Awareness Month in hopes of helping victims through their pain and moving forward in the fight to eradicate domestic violence from our world. Join us in spreading awareness, helping survivors, and doing everything possible to stop violence before it begins.
From October 1st - 31st, CalVCP will sponsor Suited for Successful Families, an annual clothing drive benefiting survivors of domestic violence. Donations will be dispersed to five local nonprofits: WEAVE, My Sister's House, Plumas Rural Services, A Community For Peace, and the Sacramento Children’s Home.
You can help by donating men's and women's professional attire, children’s clothing, new toys, and diapers to CalVCP Headquarters at 400 R St, Sacramento, CA 95811. Donations are accepted Mon-Fri, 6:30am-6:00pm.
