\n The Pence presents its first juried exhibit of fine craft by artists and craftspeople residing in California\, as selected by Julie M. Muniz\, Associate Curator\, Design and Decorative Arts\, Oakland Museu m of California.
\n\n By Hand: Extraordinary Fine Craft in Calif ornia showcases work that is cutting-edge and has the highest standar d of workmanship. Artists were selected for their aesthetic vision and in novative use of materials\, including wood\, clay\, acrylic\, textiles\, a nd metal.
\n\n Exhibiting artists include Marlen e Bloomberg\, Susan Brady\, Beverly Crist\, Dede deGraffenried\, Alex Frie dman\, Tricia Goldberg\, Mark Goudy\, Bill Heiderich\, Franki Kohler\, Bar betta Lockart\, Emma Luna\, Chris Motley\, Kathy Pallie\, Liza Riddle\, Ja n Schachter\, Louise Schiele\, Jeff Snell\, Matt Trethric\, Melissa Woodbu rn\, and Carolyn Zeitler. Several guest local artists were invited as well \, such as Joshua Rutherford\, Marjan Kluepfel\, Dean Moniz\, and Paula Be llacera.
\n\n This exhibit is sponsored by the Creative Arts League\ , which is dedicated to promoting\, exhibiting\, educating and building a community of art enthusiasts around a shared interest in art and fine craf t throughout Northern California.
