Less than four months later, after winning the California Democratic primary, Kennedy was assassinated by Sirhan Sirhan, who shot him three times at Los Angeles’ Ambassador Hotel. In 1963, Kennedy’s brother, President John F. Kennedy, had been assassinated in Dallas.
